  • If you're unable to care for your pet, we can help with rehoming.

  • We may be able to offer financial assistance for neutering, microchipping, or veterinary treatment if you're facing financial difficulties.

  • We provide expert advice and guidance on responsible pet ownership and animal welfare.

Animal rehoming

We understand there may be occasions when circumstances change and sadly, you are not able to look after your pet anymore. Animals come to us for a number of reasons, including death of an owner, financial hardship, moving house to a property that cannot accommodate animals, increased work commitments, ongoing health problems of the owner, etc.

The decision to give up your pet will be difficult. We are here to help and support you, and may be able to suggest other options which are available rather than you giving up your animal companion.

Whatever your reason, please do not hesitate to contact us for help.

Neutering and microchipping

Responsible pet ownership goes further than feeding, and giving your pet the love they need.

RSPCA South Bucks strongly encourages all domestic pet owners to neuter and microchip their pets.

Neutering will help to avoid unplanned pregnancies, and with this, negate the need to look after the offspring. Neutering also has health benefits for pets.

Microchipping will help to identify your pet if they go missing. A very simple and cost-effective way of making sure that should your missing pet be found, their identity will be known and they will be reunited with you. Please always make sure your contact details are up to date with the microchip company. Dogs and cats must be microchipped by law.

We may be able to help with the cost of neutering and microchipping your animal, if you are struggling financially.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more.

Veterinary treatment

No animal should suffer as a result of financial hardship, neglect or ill treatment. The cost of medical treatment for your pet should not be a barrier to your animal having a fulfilling and healthy lifestyle. However, we are aware of the costs involved, which may be challenging to afford.

RSPCA South Bucks may be able to contribute towards the cost of treatment for your pet, under our veterinary financial assistance scheme. The scheme is means tested, and regrettably is not available to everyone.

Please contact us to find out more.

Education

We endeavour to raise awareness and educate as many people as possible on animal wellbeing, responsible pet ownership, and how to report animal cruelty and welfare incidents.

We are willing and able to facilitate educational workshops for schools, clubs and other interested parties, in the south Buckinghamshire area.

Please get in touch if you would like more information.
