How RSPCA South Bucks helped in 2025

It’s always good to look back and see how many animals we have helped during the last year, and we thought it would be interesting to our supporters too, so here are the stats for 2025. As you will see, we have had a very busy year.

2025 cat statistics

At the end of 2024, we had 37 cats and kittens in our branch. During the course of 2025 we took in 135 cats and kittens and adopted out 147. At the end of December 2025 we had 24 cats and kittens in our branch.

We currently have 2 assisted adoptions, where we support financially with the medical care for the cat’s condition on adoption, e.g. diabetes.

2025 rabbit and small animal statistics

At the end of 2024 we had 19 rabbits and 1 guinea pig in our care. During the course of 2025 we took in 32 rabbits, of which 3 were from the RSPCA Inspectorate, 8 were strays that had been dumped, 21 were owner surrenders. We also took in 2 hamsters, 1 of whom was abandoned in a car park. Of the guinea pigs that we took in, 13 were networked to us from Inspectorate and 15 were owner surrenders. We also took in 6 budgies, of which 1 came from an Inspector.

We rehomed 22 rabbits, 2 hamsters, 6 budgies and 19 guinea pigs. 2 elderly guinea pigs unfortunately passed away, 1 rabbit died from a heart condition and 2 rabbits had such severe damage, the vet advised that sadly, they could not be saved.

We currently have 26 rabbits and 7 guinea pigs in branch care being prepared for adoption. Of these, 3 rabbits are special needs due to dental conditions.

We are very grateful for the enormous amount of time and dedication our volunteer fosterers put in to enable all our animals to have a better life. We look forward to working with them to help more animals in 2026.

We are always looking for more volunteer fosterers. If you are interested in this very rewarding role, contact cats@rspca-southbucks.org.uk for cat fostering, or smallanimals@rspca-southbucks.org.uk for rabbit and small animal fostering.

Thank you for your ongoing support.
