International Rabbit Day, 26 September, is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate these gentle, intelligent, and often wonderfully cheeky companions – and to shine a light on the rabbits we have waiting for their forever homes.

If you’re thinking about rehoming rabbits, take a look at www.rspca-southbucks.org.uk/adopt-a-rabbit to see who is waiting to meet you – including Ollie and Minnette, pictured here. These two are wonderful rabbits who will make fantastic pets and are an absolute joy to be around!

Before adopting, it’s important to understand what rabbits need to live happy, healthy lives. They need plenty of space to exercise and explore, and they generally prefer to live with other rabbits in pairs or groups.

There’s lots of useful information about rabbit care, companionship, housing and more here: www.rspca.org.uk/adviceandwelfare/pets/rabbits

Whether you’re already a rabbit lover or considering welcoming some floppy-eared friends into your family, a little knowledge can make a huge difference to their lives.

Happy International Rabbit Day!
