Peanut update

Lovely little Peanut came to us in July with two little girl kittens, Nacho and Twinkle. They were removed from unsuitable conditions by an RSPCA inspector.

All were severely underweight, covered in poo, had urine burns, and conjunctivitis in their eyes. They also had tummies full of worms.

Very sadly, the two little girls passed away, but male kitten, Peanut kept fighting on.

Peanut was hand fed every two hours and he slowly put on weight. By the end of July he had enough energy to try and play for the first time.

Peanut continued to get stronger as time went on. Once he was wormed and on a good diet, he started to thrive, purring and playing.

He then had a set back, as he developed flu like symptoms and became rather poorly. But after great care at the vets and some antibiotics, he got better.

Unfortunately, just before he was due to have his first vaccination, he then got really poorly again with the flu. He was given strong antibiotics this time, as his breathing was very poor. He really fought hard and got over this, which again was a great relief to the cat team.

He has now had his first vaccination and is thriving due to a lot of TLC from his fosterer.

He is loving playing and loving life! What a transformation!

Our volunteer cat coordinator and volunteer fosterers have worked tirelessly to get Peanut to where he is now. Hopefully it will be time to put him up for adoption soon and he can settle in to his forever home.
