We would like to say a huge thank you to Pets Foundation (www.petsfoundation.co.uk) for the very generous grant that we recently received to assist with our vet bills and food costs. It helps cats like Rose …

Rose had been wandering the local streets for weeks, in the cold, wet, winter weather, earlier this year, before taking up refuge in a garden. She was a friendly cat, so had been owned at some point in her short life, but like so many unfortunate cats, she was abandoned when her owners moved away, as they simply left her behind, homeless and vulnerable, to fend for herself.

She was only a year old when we rescued her, and was already heavily pregnant, very underweight and desperate for food. A week after coming into our care she gave birth to six healthy kittens. She was an excellent mum despite being so young herself and having had such a difficult start in life. When they were old enough, the kittens were given health checks, vaccinated and microchipped, before being adopted. We also cover the cost of neutering as soon as they are old enough.

Rose was also neutered, vaccinated and microchipped, and is now waiting to be adopted. She will finally get to enjoy the life that every young cat should have – playing, exploring, being loved, and not having to worry about where her next meal will come from, or the dangers of having to survive on the streets.

The grant from Pets Foundation means that we can rescue more vulnerable cats like Rose, and make sure that they receive the food, medical treatments, love and care that they desperately need. Abandoned and homeless cats are at an all time high in our local area, with demand for our services significantly higher than we have ever experienced. This grant means that we can continue to neuter, vaccinate and microchip cats, before they are adopted, to avoid further unwanted pregnancies, and reduce the number of homeless cats, forced to live rough lives, at risk, on the streets.

Thank you Pets Foundation for your generous support.
